College of the Sequoias teams prepare for weekend athletics schedule

College of the Sequoias athletics teams return to competition this weekend across multiple sports. The football team hosts Laney College at Sequoias Stadium on Saturday, Sept. 12, at 1 p.m. for its first matchup against that opponent since 2017. Soccer teams compete in a doubleheader at home on Friday, Sept. 11, with the women facing Madera and the men hosting Canyons. Meanwhile, the volleyball team hits the road for the two-day Delta Invitational in Stockton beginning Friday, Sept. 11, where they face Lassen in the opening match. The cross country teams remain idle this week following their performance at the Crush Invitational in Fresno and are scheduled to return at the NorCal Preview meet on Sept. 18 in Oroville.
