Colonie pitcher Lily Reynolds commits to University at Albany softball

Colonie high school junior Lily Reynolds has announced her verbal commitment to play softball for the University at Albany. The pitcher, who concluded her sophomore season with a 7-2 record and a 1.61 earned run average, cited a preference to remain near her family as the primary reason for her selection. Reynolds struck out 115 batters over 91 1/3 innings during the 2026 campaign while earning first-team all-star honors. She credited her travel coach Rick Tedisco with assisting her through the recruitment process and expressed excitement regarding her remaining high school seasons with Colonie. The Great Danes compete in the America East Conference under head coach Chris Cannata, who received the commitment on Wednesday. Reynolds plans to study biology at the university.
