Colorado Avalanche rank Fedor Svechkov fourth in under-25 prospect list

The Colorado Avalanche organization ranked 23-year-old center Fedor Svechkov fourth in its annual Top 25 Under 25 list as of September 1, 2026. Svechkov joined the organization in June as part of a trade with the Nashville Predators that also included Zach L’Heureux. The center enters the upcoming season with 122 games of NHL experience, the highest total among players included in the ranking. GM Joe Sakic identified Svechkov as a primary candidate for the fourth-line center position. Because Svechkov is no longer waiver-exempt, the team intends to incorporate him into the active roster for the 2026-27 season. The club signed him to a contract worth $1.25 million annually for the next two years to facilitate his integration into the lineup.
