Colton Cowser robs Jake McCarthy of home run to secure Orioles win

Baltimore Orioles outfielder Colton Cowser preserved a 2-1 victory over the Colorado Rockies on Monday by robbing Jake McCarthy of a game-ending home run. With two outs in the bottom of the ninth inning at Coors Field and the tying run positioned on second base, McCarthy connected on a sinker from Baltimore reliever Andrew Kittredge. The ball appeared headed for a walk-off hit before Cowser leaped at the wall to secure the out. The Rockies, who hold the worst record in MLB at 52-86, remain at the bottom of the league standings with the lowest ERA in the majors. McCarthy continues a productive campaign, hitting.289 with 14 home runs and 70 RBI. The two teams are scheduled to resume their series at Coors Field tonight at 8:40 p.m. ET.
