Colton Herta indicates he will not return to F2 in 2027

Colton Herta has expressed no interest in competing in Formula 2 for another season, following a challenging stint in 2026 where he currently sits 19th in the standings with 26 points. After his performance with Hitech GP, which included missing races due to illness, Herta stated, "I have no interest in another year of Formula 2." He noted his need for additional Super Licence points to pursue a future in Formula 1, particularly with Cadillac's entry into the sport. Herta remains open to returning to IndyCar but has not confirmed any plans moving forward. He intends to follow the progress of the F2 series as it transitions to a new era with different cars.
