Colts' Alec Pierce receives PRP injection to aid ankle recovery

Colts receiver Alec Pierce underwent a platelet-rich plasma (PRP) injection in his left ankle following surgery in late March. The procedure aimed to relieve lingering soreness, but it was not due to a setback in his rehabilitation. Pierce is currently on the physically unable to perform list as the team prepares for joint practice with the Patriots. Colts general manager Chris Ballard noted Pierce is likely still a week or two away from returning to the field, while head coach Shane Steichen highlighted the positive progress in his rehab. Pierce received a previous PRP injection earlier this offseason but still experienced pain, leading to the recent procedure.
