Colts kickers compete as Grupe and Shrader battle for starting job

Indianapolis Colts kickers Blake Grupe and Spencer Shrader continue their competition during training camp. Grupe, who started strong, faced setbacks in the preseason opener after missing a field goal attempt, while Shrader converted two kicks, including a 61-yarder. In a recent practice, Grupe successfully made all six attempts, whereas Shrader was four of six with two misses to the left. Grupe currently holds a 33-for-36 kicking record compared to Shrader's 24-for-36. The upcoming days, featuring joint practices and another preseason game, will be critical for Shrader as he seeks to close the gap in performance.
