Colts place Alec Pierce on injured reserve after heel aggravation

Indianapolis Colts wide receiver Alec Pierce has been placed on injured reserve due to an aggravated left heel injury. Pierce sustained the injury during the Colts' Week 2 matchup against Kansas City. Rather than surgery, he will focus on rehabilitation in hopes of returning after an estimated four to six weeks. Colts head coach Shane Steichen confirmed Pierce will miss at least the next four games. The absence of Pierce, who had over 1,000 receiving yards last season, is expected to impact the Colts' offensive capabilities. In response, the Colts have signed Darius Slayton to bolster their receiving corps.
