Columbus Blue Jackets maintain contact with Mason Marchment ahead of free agency

As NHL free agency approaches on July 1, the Columbus Blue Jackets have yet to re-sign forward Mason Marchment, a pending unrestricted free agent. TSN's Pierre LeBrun reports that if Marchment enters free agency, a strong market is developing for him. Marchment had a notable performance this past season, scoring 15 goals and providing 17 assists in 39 games since joining the team from the Seattle Kraken. His exit could considerably weaken the Blue Jackets' forward lineup. The team is expected to continue discussions with Marchment as they seek to secure his future in Columbus.
