Commanders consider playing Jayden Daniels against Lions in preseason matchup

The Washington Commanders are weighing the decision to play quarterback Jayden Daniels against the Detroit Lions this Saturday. Analyst Grant Paulsen advocates for Daniels to gain game experience, emphasizing the importance of live reps over practice drills. The Commanders recently suffered injuries, including Marcus Mariota's sprained MCL and a torn pectoral muscle for defensive tackle Johnny Newton, raising concerns about the risk of further injuries in preseason games. Whether Daniels will take the field remains uncertain as the team prepares for the regular season opener against the Philadelphia Eagles.
