Commanders' Daron Payne named a top 25 NFL trade candidate

Washington Commanders defensive tackle Daron Payne is highlighted as a leading trade candidate ahead of the NFL deadline. The team currently holds a 1-4-1 record and may adopt a seller's approach, particularly as Payne is in the final year of his contract with a substantial salary. As the Commanders evaluate their roster, trading Payne could yield valuable draft picks for future seasons. The decision will weigh on the team's direction and upcoming matchups. If Washington decides to part with Payne, it could be important to secure compensation before his potential departure in free agency next offseason.
