Commanders finalize roster while remaining thin at the center position

The Washington Commanders finalized their initial 53-man roster on Sunday without adding reinforcements at center. The team faces questions at the position following an injury to starter Nick Allegretti on the first day of training camp. While other NFL teams successfully traded for additional interior linemen on Sunday, the Commanders front office opted not to acquire experienced depth. Rookie Matt Gulbin struggled during the preseason, and the team recently cut journeyman Julian Good-Jones, who received the bulk of practice repetitions in Allegretti’s absence.
