Commanders lead race to sign former Lions tackle Taylor Decker

Summary

The Washington Commanders are emerging as favorites to sign Taylor Decker, a former offensive tackle for the Detroit Lions. This comes after the team lost their All-Pro left tackle, Laremy Tunsil, potentially for the entire 2026 season. Decker, a ten-year veteran, has connections with the Commanders’ coaching staff. Discussions between Decker and the team have not yet taken place, but the fit seems promising given Decker's familiarity with the team's offensive concepts and personnel. The Commanders currently have Andrew Wylie slated to start, but his experience primarily lies at right tackle, underscoring the need for Decker's signing.
