Commanders promote David Blough as new offensive coordinator for 2026 season

Blough, who previously served as the assistant quarterbacks coach, replaces Kliff Kingsbury, who departed for the Los Angeles Rams. Under Blough, the Commanders are expected to shift to a more traditional NFL offense after operating extensively from shotgun formations. Last season, the team struggled to a 5-12 record despite a promising start with quarterback Jayden Daniels leading them to an NFC Championship Game appearance in 2024.
