Commanders reach agreement with LB Krys Barnes before the season

The Commanders have finalized a contract with linebacker Krys Barnes, according to a report from Matt Zenitz of CBS Sports. Barnes, who is entering his fifth NFL season at age 28, played for the Carolina Panthers last year, contributing in both defense and special teams. In 2022, he participated in seven games with three starts, recording 23 tackles and a half-sack. With previous stints at the Packers and Cardinals, Barnes has accumulated 303 tackles, 5.5 sacks, 10 passes defensed, an interception, and a forced fumble over 75 career games. His addition could bolster the Commanders' linebacker corps as they prepare for the upcoming season.
