The Seattle Seahawks, entering the 2026 preseason, face challenges with their wide receiver depth. Despite having the NFL’s reigning Offensive Player of the Year, Jaxon Smith-Njigba, who amassed 1,793 receiving yards last season, the rest of the receiving corps has shown limited production. Cooper Kupp ranked second on the team with just 593 yards, raising questions about relying too heavily on Smith-Njigba. Internal improvements are necessary as the Seahawks did not acquire new wide receivers this offseason. With younger players like Rashid Shaheed and Tory Horton needing to step up, Seattle's success may hinge on developing reliable options behind their top target.
- •Jaxon Smith-Njigba accounted for 44.1% of Seahawks' receiving yards last season.
- •Cooper Kupp was the second leading wide receiver with 593 yards.
- •Seattle did not strengthen the wide receiver group during the offseason.
- •Shaheed and Horton are key to improving alongside Smith-Njigba.
- •The season's success may depend on developing depth behind Smith-Njigba.
