Congressman ties Cleveland Browns to Trump’s campaign remarks

Summary

At a campaign event on August 21, 2026, Congressman Ted Lieu referenced the Cleveland Browns in response to President Donald Trump's assertions about Republican poll numbers. Lieu suggested that Trump's claims were as unlikely as the Browns winning the Super Bowl this season, citing the team's struggles, including their lack of a starting quarterback and the trade of star player Myles Garrett. Lieu's comments aim to challenge Trump's optimistic outlook ahead of the midterm elections, highlighting a disparity with recent polling that favors Democrats.
