Jeffries emphasized the importance of a mother witnessing her son make history and has urged the State Department to assist. The department confirmed there was initially no record of Evora applying for a visa but stated they are actively reaching out to help her with the visa process. Cape Verde's next World Cup match is scheduled for Sunday against Uruguay in Miami.
