Connor Zilisch returns to CARS Tour with JR Motorsports

NASCAR Cup Series driver Connor Zilisch will compete in the upcoming CARS Tour event at Florence Motor Speedway. Driving the No. 8 Red Bull-backed Late Model Stock for JR Motorsports, the appearance marks his first start in the series since 2024. Zilisch previously used the CARS Tour to develop his oval racing skills, accumulating 14 starts and a victory at Hickory Motor Speedway during his initial tenure. While he is now a full-time participant in the NASCAR Cup Series, he enters this race acknowledging the competitive nature of the short-track circuit. The event serves as a return to the series that assisted his transition from road racing to NASCAR competition. Zilisch is scheduled to participate in the race Friday night.
