Connor Zilisch to join Hendrick Motorsports as next No. 48 driver

Connor Zilisch has been announced as the next driver for the iconic No. 48 Chevrolet at Hendrick Motorsports starting with the 2028 NASCAR Cup Series season. Jeff Gordon revealed that Zilisch was evaluated on his ability to perform on ovals, in addition to his established talent on road courses. Zilisch, who is still competing this season with Trackhouse Racing, has faced challenges but showed promise with notable finishes. His appointment marks the first full-time driver change for Hendrick since Kyle Larson joined in 2021. Zilisch will complete his duties with Trackhouse before transitioning to Hendrick.
