Conor McKenna pursues golf scholarship while balancing studies

Conor McKenna, a 19-year-old golfer from Guernsey, is currently on a scholarship at St Thomas Aquinas College in New York. He has made the transition from island life to city life while managing his academic responsibilities alongside an intense golf practice schedule. McKenna, who won the Channel Island Championships in 2024, expressed the challenges of adapting to the educational demands in the U.S. He is taking his future step by step, recently returning to Guernsey for summer play. McKenna and six other Guernsey players are set to compete in the open qualifier for the British Open on June 22.
