Seventeen-year-old Cooper Lutkenhaus defeated Olympic champion Emmanuel Wanyonyi in the men's 800m at the Diamond League meeting in Oslo. Lutkenhaus finished with a personal best time of 1:42.08, just edging out Wanyonyi's season-best time of 1:42.09. The American athlete has been unbeaten in five previous 800m finals this year, including a gold at the World Indoor Championships. Wanyonyi acknowledged Lutkenhaus’s capability, noting the challenge posed by the young runner. Other notable results included British sprinter Amy Hunt placing second in the women's 100m, and Alison dos Santos winning the men's 400m hurdles.
