During the Presidents Cup on September 26, Corey Conners' second hole approach shot appeared to head out of bounds. As the ball landed in the rough, a spectator kicked it onto the green, where it settled 13 feet from the pin. PGA Tour rules stated that this deliberate action necessitated that the ball be ruled out of bounds. Conners and his partner Nick Taylor subsequently lost the hole to an American bogey.

"Conners’ approach at the second hole seemed destined for out of bounds on Saturday at the Presidents Cup. But as the shot sailed left and landed in the rough, left of the wooden, split-rail fence that lines the left side of the hole, a spectator suddenly kicked the ball, still in motion, onto the green.
