Court hears Anthony Joshua driver attempted overtake before fatal crash

A Nigerian court is currently hearing the trial of Adeniyi Mobolaji Kayode regarding a fatal vehicle collision that occurred last December. Kayode, the driver of a Lexus SUV transporting Anthony Joshua and his associates to visit the boxer's father in Ogun State, faces charges of causing death by dangerous driving and driving without a valid license. Prosecutors allege that Kayode attempted to overtake a moving truck before colliding with a stationary lorry. The incident resulted in the deaths of Joshua’s personal trainer, Latif Ayodele, and his strength coach, Sina Ghami. A second defendant, Abubakar Adamu, is charged with obstructing the flow of traffic. The trial has been adjourned until 10 September as authorities continue to seek a statement from Joshua, who was a passenger during the crash.
