Thibaut Courtois is set to sign a one-year contract extension with Real Madrid before the end of this summer's transfer window. His current deal runs until 2027, and at 34 years old, Real Madrid plans to offer him one-year extensions moving forward. Courtois has experienced ongoing injury issues, including a groin injury suffered during Belgium's match against Spain in the FIFA World Cup Quarterfinals. With his fitness in question, Andriy Lunin may be called upon more frequently this season to cover goalkeeping duties.
