Coventry City returns to Match of the Day after 25 years

Coventry City has returned to the BBC’s Match of the Day highlights program for the first time since May 2001. The club’s absence followed its relegation from the Premier League at the end of the 2000-01 season. Production of the show involves a day-long process at the studio, where teams edit match footage and incorporate analysis from pundits. Gabby Logan currently hosts the program, with Danny Murphy and Rob Edwards providing commentary. Coventry City recently played a match at the Etihad Stadium on September 5, which was featured as an eight-minute segment on the show. Fans can now expect regular coverage of the Sky Blues as the team competes in the top flight again.
