Cowboys add tight end Mitch Van Vooren to roster

The Cowboys signed tight end Mitch Van Vooren on August 24 to address depth issues following injuries to Michael Trigg and D.J. Rogers. In a corresponding move, defensive tackle Kelvin Gilliam was waived. Van Vooren, 25, had previously spent part of the offseason with the Patriots but entered the NFL as a rookie free agent in 2025 with the Seahawks. He had a collegiate standout season at St. Norbert, recording 33 receptions for 510 yards and 10 touchdowns.
