C.J. Goodwin, captain of the Dallas Cowboys in 2025, has announced his retirement from the NFL. At 36 years old, he concluded his career having played 136 games, primarily in a special teams role. Goodwin was undrafted and started with the Pittsburgh Steelers in 2014, later playing for the Atlanta Falcons and Arizona Cardinals before joining the Cowboys in 2018. Over his tenure, he contributed with 68 tackles and forced two fumbles. The Cowboys will now look to replace him as their special teams captain.
