Cowboys claim running back Emari Demercado off waivers

The Dallas Cowboys added Emari Demercado to their roster on Monday by claiming the running back off waivers from the Kansas City Chiefs. The move follows the team's decision to cut Jaydon Blue and Phil Mafah on Sunday. The Cowboys were previously left with only Malik Davis on the depth chart behind Javonte Williams. Demercado arrives in Dallas after spending three seasons with the Arizona Cardinals, where he recorded 819 rushing yards on 126 carries and three touchdowns. During his tenure with the Cardinals, he also caught 50 passes for 324 yards and one touchdown. The addition provides necessary depth to the Cowboys' backfield following the roster adjustments made earlier in the week.
