Cowboys release quarterback Joe Milton and announce roster transactions

The Dallas Cowboys released quarterback Joe Milton on Monday, one day after the team initially finalized its roster cuts. Sam Howell will remain with the team as the backup quarterback. Following the transaction, several other roster moves occurred across the NFL. Running back Jaydon Blue joined the Philadelphia Eagles practice squad, while cornerback Trevon Diggs signed with the Seattle Seahawks practice squad. Additionally, the Dallas Cowboys designated an injured outside linebacker and a rookie cornerback to miss at least the first four games of the regular season. The team also announced that Broderick Jones and Terence Steele will compete for the starting right tackle position. Elsewhere, the Miami Dolphins added seven players through the waiver wire, and Will Levis cleared waivers to become a free agent.
