Cowboys urged to trade outside linebacker Sam Williams ahead of 2026 season

The Dallas Cowboys are considering placing outside linebacker Sam Williams on the trade block as they head into the 2026 season. With the addition of new edge defenders, Williams, a former second-round pick, is now lower on the depth chart. He recorded 9.5 sacks over three seasons with the Cowboys but faces competition from starters Donovan Ezeiruaku and Rashan Gary, as well as first-round pick Malachi Lawrence. Though keeping him as depth is an option, the Cowboys may explore trade possibilities if they can acquire a meaningful return for him.
