Coyotes defeat Drake in season opener at Drake Invitational

South Dakota volleyball began its season with a 3-1 victory over Drake at the Knapp Center on August 29. The Coyotes took the first set 25-18, but the Bulldogs responded with a 25-16 win in the second. South Dakota regained momentum, taking the third set 25-21, and clinched the match with a 25-18 win in the fourth. Lauren Medeck led the Coyotes with 14 kills while Gabi Zachariasen contributed 16 kills and a strong performance in her first match. South Dakota will face Milwaukee next at 3 p.m. on August 30.
