Cristian Romero transferred to Atlético de Madrid in €40 million deal
Summary

Cristian Romero is set to join Atlético de Madrid for the upcoming season after Tottenham and Atlético finalized a transfer for approximately €40 million, including add-ons. Fabrizio Romano reports that the agreement follows a series of previously collapsed transfer options, including failed moves to Barcelona and Inter. Arsenal was also rumored to be a potential destination, but Tottenham opted not to sell him to a Premier League rival. Romero's addition aims to bolster Atlético's defensive lineup for next season under manager Diego Simeone.
