Cristiano Ronaldo misses the 2026 Ballon d'Or finalist list

Summary

Cristiano Ronaldo has been excluded from the 30-player shortlist for the 2026 Ballon d'Or. This marks the fourth consecutive year the Al-Nassr forward has failed to earn a nomination for the award. Despite his contribution to a Saudi Pro League title win with his club, voters favored other international performances, including those from the 2026 FIFA World Cup. Ronaldo, a five-time winner, remains absent from the final list that features players such as Harry Kane, Lionel Messi, and Rodri. The list represents the top performers across the recent domestic and international calendar. No Al-Nassr players other than Sadio Mané were included among the final 30 nominees.
