Cristiano Ronaldo scores twice in World Cup match against Uzbekistan
Summary

Cristiano Ronaldo scored two goals in a 5-0 victory for Portugal over Uzbekistan on June 23, 2026, in Houston. The match saw Ronaldo make history by becoming the first player to score in six World Cup tournaments. He opened the scoring just six minutes into the game and added a second before halftime. This performance comes after criticism following a previous draw against the Democratic Republic of Congo, where Ronaldo was less impactful. Ronaldo responded defiantly to his critics, stating that he is used to scrutiny and remains focused on his career.
