Cristopher Sanchez of the Philadelphia Phillies has been named the starting pitcher for the National League in the 2026 MLB All-Star Game. The event will take place on Tuesday evening, with Sanchez set to face Dylan Cease of the American League. This selection comes after controversy last year when Sanchez was not named an All-Star despite a strong season. With a 2.62 ERA and an impressive strikeout rate, Sanchez is having a standout year, highlighted by a historic April without allowing an earned run. The All-Star Game will be particularly special as it is being hosted in Philadelphia, the team's home city.
