The Chicago Cubs are considering a trade for Detroit Tigers pitcher Tarik Skubal as they seek to bolster their starting rotation. After suffering additional injuries, including the loss of Edward Cabrera, the Cubs are currently in a position for a Wild Card playoff berth despite their struggles. A proposed trade deal includes key prospects Matt Shaw, Pedro Ramirez, Jaxon Wiggins, and Kevin Alcántara, which some analysts believe may be an overpay. Skubal, a two-time Cy Young Award winner, would provide immediate impact but is expected to be a rental for two months before free agency.
