The Chicago Cubs are reportedly interested in trading for Seattle Mariners pitcher Emerson Hancock, who has a 3.16 ERA in 19 starts this season. With the Cubs in need of pitching reinforcement after recent injuries and roster changes, they could offer bats or prospects such as Matt Shaw and Kevin Alcántara in a potential deal. The Mariners, who are two games out of a wild card spot, are open to trading Hancock and Luis Castillo but not their key starters. The trade deadline is next Monday, and both teams are exploring options to bolster their rosters.
