Cubs fall to Royals 6-3 despite strong game from Ian Happ

The Chicago Cubs dropped a 6-3 decision to the Kansas City Royals on August 8. The Cubs fell behind early and struggled to recover throughout the game. Ian Happ contributed significantly, going 2-for-4 with a home run and a double. Clay Holmes had a challenging outing as the starting pitcher, giving up four earned runs in four innings. The loss marks a setback in the Cubs' ongoing competition for a playoff spot, although they remain in a strong position in the Wild Card race.
