Cubs make significant trades, impacting their farm system post-Deadline

Summary

The Chicago Cubs made several trades leading up to the Trade Deadline, adding five major leaguers while losing seven minor league players, including notable prospects Jefferson Rojas and Moisés Ballesteros. Rojas, ranked as the Cubs' No. 2 prospect, was deemed blocked in the organization, prompting the team to trade him along with others for established players. The Cubs' decisions indicate a shift in focus towards immediate performance over developing young talent, as farm system assessments and prospect rankings are likely to be updated as a result. The implications of these trades will be monitored as the Cubs aim to compete in the playoffs.
