Cubs pitcher Edward Cabrera throws five no-hit innings for Smokies

Edward Cabrera, on a rehab assignment from the Chicago Cubs, pitched five hitless innings for the Tennessee Smokies at Covenant Health Park on August 11. He recorded seven strikeouts and only issued a walk, retiring 13 consecutive batters. Despite his dominant outing, the Smokies ultimately lost to the Rocket City Trash Pandas, 6-1, as they surrendered six runs to the opposing bullpen after Cabrera exited. Daniel Palencia also appeared in the game for the Smokies, allowing four runs due to walks and one hit-by-pitch before being removed. The Smokies are currently playing a series against the Trash Pandas, trailing 1-0 in the matchup.
