Dallas Cowboys name Tyler Guyton as the X-factor for 2026 season

Summary

The Dallas Cowboys enter the 2026 NFL season looking to secure a playoff berth after missing the postseason for two consecutive years. Ben Solak of ESPN identified left tackle Tyler Guyton as the team's primary X-factor for the upcoming campaign. Guyton, selected 29th overall in the 2024 NFL Draft, has started 21 games during his first two seasons in the league. Analysts point to his physical potential as a starting tackle but note the need for improved consistency to support the team's offensive unit. Throughout his tenure, Guyton has struggled with penalties and has missed time due to ankle, shoulder, and knee injuries. The team relies on him to stabilize the offensive line as they attempt to return to postseason contention.
