Dallas Mavericks acquire Zaccharie Risacher in three-team trade

The Dallas Mavericks have acquired former first overall pick Zaccharie Risacher from the Atlanta Hawks as part of a three-team trade involving the Oklahoma City Thunder. The deal also brings a protected 2027 second-round pick to Dallas while Ryan Nembhard heads to Atlanta. Mavericks' assistant coach mentioned plans to utilize Risacher as a shooting guard in a potentially big lineup alongside other forwards. After being drafted No. 1 in 2024, Risacher had a solid rookie season but saw his role diminish in his second year with the Hawks. He will need to compete for playing time with several other forwards on the Mavericks roster under new head coach Dusty May.
