Dallas Mavericks agree to buyout with Klay Thompson

The Dallas Mavericks have reached a buyout agreement with guard/forward Klay Thompson on August 21, 2026. Thompson played two seasons with the Mavericks, appearing in 141 games and averaging 12.9 points per game. Mavericks President of Basketball Operations Masai Ujiri expressed gratitude for Thompson's contributions and respect for his career achievements. The buyout allows both parties to move forward after Thompson's tenure with Dallas.
