Dalton Smith defends WBC title against Alberto Puello in Sheffield

Dalton Smith will make the first defense of his WBC light-welterweight title against Alberto Puello on Saturday, 24 October, at Utilita Arena in Sheffield. Smith, unbeaten in 19 bouts, previously won the title by stopping Subriel Matias in New York earlier this year. His original bout with Puello was postponed due to an injury. Puello, a former champion, has only one career loss, which came against Matias in 2025. The fight night will feature a full undercard and is expected to attract significant attention as Smith looks to solidify his status in the division.
