Dan Campbell praises Cade Mays' early performance with Lions

Summary

Detroit Lions coach Dan Campbell expressed satisfaction with Cade Mays' adaptation as center during the early stages of training camp. Mays, who signed a three-year, $25 million contract in March, is adjusting to a complex offensive scheme, a stark contrast to his previous experience with the Carolina Panthers. After a practice in pads, Mays reported a positive mental acclimation, aided by quarterback Jared Goff and offensive line coach Hank Fraley. The Lions aim for Mays to stabilize their offensive line after past struggles, including a league-high 38 sacks allowed last season. Mays' familiarity with Detroit's system and his chemistry with Goff will be key as preseason continues.
