Dan Fouts discusses MNF experience with Dennis Miller and Al Michaels

Dan Fouts reflected on his time in the Monday Night Football booth during the 2000 and 2001 seasons, which also included Al Michaels and Dennis Miller. The attempt to blend comedy with sports commentary did not achieve high ratings, leading to Fouts and Miller's exit after two years. A new HBO documentary, 'Miller Night Football,' explores this unique pairing. Fouts revealed he was unaware of Miller's hiring until he accepted the job. Despite mixed reviews of Miller's performance, Fouts noted that Miller was well-prepared and dedicated to the role. He acknowledged the eventual hiring of John Madden as the reason for their departure from MNF. Fouts continues to commentate on NFL games, currently working on Los Angeles Chargers preseason broadcasts.
