Bengals broadcaster Dan Hoard named defensive back Bryan Cook as a primary free agent target for the organization heading into the 2026 season. Hoard stated his interest in Cook stems from a meeting at the Super Bowl two years ago, citing the player's versatility and physical presence in the secondary as ideal fits for the current roster. Cook, who spent the 2025 season with the Kansas City Chiefs and recorded 85 tackles, is viewed as a piece that could help provide defensive consistency alongside teammates Dexter Lawrence and D.J. Turner. The Bengals are looking to supplement a high-scoring offense led by Joe Burrow and Ja'Marr Chase with improved defensive performances against elite opponents. Cook is scheduled to appear on the Bengals “Game Plan” show tonight at Liberty Collective to discuss his professional status and potential role within the system.
