Dani Ceballos joins Real Betis on a three-year contract

Dani Ceballos returned to Real Betis on Tuesday following the conclusion of the summer transfer window. The 30-year-old midfielder joins the La Liga club as a free agent after Real Madrid released him from his contract one year early. Ceballos, who previously played for Real Betis before departing in 2017, had been linked to various European clubs throughout the summer. He has signed a deal that ties him to the Seville-based club through June 2029. The move marks the end of a persistent transfer pursuit by the Real Betis board to bring the former Arsenal player back to the team. His addition provides the squad with experienced midfield depth for the current La Liga season.
