Daniel Dye crashes into Kyle Larson during final lap at Daytona

Daniel Dye made contact with Kyle Larson during the final lap of the NASCAR Cup race at Daytona on Saturday. While attempting to navigate a backstretch pileup, Dye’s No. 78 car mounted the left-rear of Larson’s No. 5 Hendrick Motorsports Chevrolet, coming to rest briefly on the window net before landing back on the track. Both drivers finished the race, with Dye placing 29th and Larson finishing 31st. This event marked the final race of a four-event deal for Dye with Live Fast Motorsports. Despite the collision, officials noted that no cars flipped during the event, making it the first time in the Next Gen era that a Daytona race concluded without a rollover. Dye had earlier announced a multi-year deal to join Jordan Anderson Racing for the NASCAR O'Reilly Auto Parts Series.
